Modern displays & voice announcements for new and existing lifts
Add digital floor indicators and clear voice announcements to your lift — whether you are modernising an existing installation or fitting out a brand-new one. Configure the whole system online, then upload it to a single master unit that runs every panel.
What it is
The part of the lift that passengers see, hear and press: floor position, direction, arrival, out of service, voice announcements and messages from the building.
It is not a lift controller, and it plays no part in the lift's safety systems. It connects to your lift controller in a simple way, through conventional relays or over Modbus as a slave unit.
Displays and optionsWhy it exists
“I spent 30 years on the tools servicing, repairing and refurbishing lifts. I was supposed to be retired. This is the system I always wanted on site.”
Modern interfaces for modern lifts
Traditional dot matrix displays are limited to numbers and arrows. Lift Displays brings smart touchscreen technology to lift control — interactive displays that respond to user input and provide real-time visual feedback, set up in the online configurator.
Low Voltage
12–24VDC operation. Compatible with existing pushbutton installations. Energy efficient throughout.
Simple Wiring
Standard network cabling, loop in/out. Optional wireless mode.
Configurable
Free online configuration tool. Custom floor labels. Multiple operation modes.
Real-time response
Every interaction gets an immediate response. Visual and audio feedback keeps passengers informed and confident at every step.
Audio Feedback
Built-in speaker with comprehensive message library. Configurable announcements for button presses, floor arrivals, and safety messages.
Visual Feedback
Real-time visual feedback on every interaction. Animated transitions, colour changes, and clear status indicators keep passengers informed.
Interactive by design
Works standalone or integrates with existing button hardware. Maximum flexibility for any installation.
Floor Selection
Responsive touch for intuitive floor selection with instant visual and audio confirmation.
Display Function
Each module can be configured as a car, landing, or display only device.
Standalone Mode
Works independently or alongside existing mechanical buttons.
Complete system
Three components work together to replace your entire legacy display system.
Central intelligence
Main I/O board interfaces with your lift controller via relay or RS485 (Modbus). Handles all communication and control logic.
Interactive displays
Round or rectangular displays for landing stations with option of adding 2 physical pushbuttons with or without touch on the display.
All-in-one interface
Use either a single large touchscreen or traditional buttons with a display, even a combination of the two.
Setup in minutes
Calculate the devices required on each floor and in the car
Configure your system online — using 3d view and completing the inputs and outputs required
Save and export configuration, upload to master unit using the integrated interface and test before putting into service.
Frequently asked questions
Audible and visual signalling and hands-free voice calling support the accessibility expectations set out in EN 81-70 and new-lift integration uses standard Modbus RTU
Does Lift Displays replace my lift controller?
No. Lift Displays is a display, call and announcement system. It works alongside your existing or new controller and never takes over the safety-critical control of the lift.
How is the system set up?
Everything is configured online — floor labels, voice announcements and panel layout — and uploaded to the master unit. There is no specialist software to install and no programming on site.
Can the building manage the lifts itself afterwards?
Yes. With the master unit on the building network, the caretaker can adjust brightness and volume, post out-of-order notices and building-wide messages, all from a browser at liftdisplays.local.
Will it work with our existing lift?
In most cases, yes. For refurbishments, Lift Displays reads the signals the lift already produces and turns them into displays and announcements, so it does not depend on the make or age of the controller.
How does it connect to a new lift controller?
Over standard Modbus RTU or by relay connections on master unit. The controller publishes status to a fixed register map and Lift Displays reads it. Any controller supporting Modbus RTU will integrate.
How do passengers call the lift?
Calling the lift is by either touch on the display or by using standard pushbuttons that you can connect to every device.
What connects the panels together?
A single standard network cable, run as a loop from the master unit to each panel.
